Tears of joy as 𝐉𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐰𝐚 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐍𝟑𝟎k 𝐭𝐨 𝐍𝟒𝟎k 𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 In a major relief for educators, the Jigawa State Government has approved a ₦10,000 increase in the monthly allowance of non-permanent teachers under the J-Teach programme, raising it from ₦30,000 to ₦40,000. The programme, introduced in 2021 to tackle the shortage of qualified teachers, currently engages graduates across public secondary schools in all 27 local government areas of the state. State Commissioner of Information, Sagir Musa, who announced the decision after Wednesday’s Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Umar Namadi, said the increment was to motivate teachers during these tough economic times.
